Top Ten Reasons to Attend DLAC Online
As our planning for DLAC continues, we are getting excited about how well DLAC Online is coming together! With that in mind, we’ve compiled the top 10 reasons you should plan to participate in DLAC Online in June.
Interactive session format. DLAC brought you a new, innovative conference format with shorter, livelier, more interactive sessions. DLAC Online sessions will be more than just a long series of webinars. There will be extensive use of break-out rooms and other interactive video conference tools to allow for more participant interaction and small group video discussions.
Live-streaming. Select sessions from DLAC All Access in Austin will be streamed live to give DLAC Online attendees a connection to the onsite conference.
Unparalleled program. The speakers and sessions just keep getting better and better. Our program gives you a range of session topics and types, and features access to expertise and best practices from almost every imaginable digital learning program: large and small, urban and rural, supplemental and fully online, mature and nascent programs.
Special tracks for teachers. DLAC has added two new tracks, one for online teachers in either supplemental or fully online environments, and one for classroom teachers transitioning to blended learning.
How to start an online school. This new track will be of particular interest to school and district leaders seeking to start a quality online and/or hybrid program.
Flexibility and safety. What’s the next best thing to being in Austin? Joining DLAC Online from your office, favorite coffee shop, vacation spot, or living room sofa. Pick and choose the sessions that are of most interest to you and join at your convenience. We understand that many are still concerned about attending a large, in-person event. Online participation provides you with the safety and security you prefer.
Gameday host booth. Join the live action through our Gameday Host Booth. Our Gameday hosts will be previewing upcoming sessions, and conducting live interviews streamed from Austin with presenters, attendees, sponsors, and DLAC advisors.
Networking. Educators learn best from each other, hearing what did (and didn’t) work in online and hybrid environments, and this year, remote learning situations. Table Talks, breakout rooms, virtual happy hours, and other activities give attendees the time and opportunity to collaborate and extend conversations. The Encore session on June 30 allows attendees to take discussions deeper with your favorite speakers.
Professional development. DLAC Online will provide attendees the opportunity for continuing education units and professional development hour certificates.
Cost effective. DLAC is an affordable option and terrific way to use those unspent, year-end professional development and conference funds. The virtual conference removes the travel and meal costs, and have we mentioned the comfort of learning in your PJs or from the beach? Registration is only $249, or a group rate of $224 for any school or district registering 5 or more educators at one time.
DLAC Online has unique structure covering five days. Attend all of the sessions or pick and choose the activities and speakers of most interest to you. It only takes a few sessions generating new ideas and best practices to make virtual attendance worthwhile.
